All owners of H-Sphere versions 2.1 to 2.3 using Authorize.Net must apply this patch which addresses two changes introduced by Authorize.Net:
1) Change of protocol which returns the error when charging users;
2) New submission security standard effective 21 October for merchants using the WebLink and ADC Relay Response connection methods.

To install the patch:

1. Log into your control panel server as root.
2. Download the patch from:
   http://www.psoft.net/shiv/HSUpdate-23/AUTHORIZE-NET.tgz
3. Unpack the patch:
   tar -zxf AUTHORIZE-NET.tgz
4. Change dir to where you have unpacked the patch:
   cd AUTHORIZE-NET
   
5. Type make install to install the patch.
6. Restart Control Panel (see here for instructions).

After installing the patch, you need to go to your Merchant Gateway settings and make sure that the Require Password mode is OFF at all times:

1. Log into the Merchant Interface.
2. Click Settings in the main menu.
3. Click Security in the Settings menu.
4. Uncheck the box labeled "Require Password for ALL Transactions".
   If this box is already unchecked, DO NOT check it.
